Oh, they are?

So, why did Seia not take her superior hearing into account? - that is so not like him...

@Friday Flare Fluffy Hugginess: Awwwww... <3 <3 <3

Judging from his looks there, I'm getting the feeling he wants her to know or at the least doesn't care about whether she does. He would not tell her himself though, probably because he swore not to reveal it to outsiders.

He seems like the kind of guy to twist the rules that way if necessary.

Panel 5, Seia's eyes. He's looking back at her. I think he knows she can hear.

Part of me thinks it's true, but part of me think Seia is being tricky.

Yup.

That is the look of someone whose convictions just got shaken to the core.

I wonder where she'll go from this.

But at least we know so far, that she considered the Lethian Guild to be no more than pawns of the World Guild. Thus implying that she wants to reduce those and by that the power of the World Guild. Maybe they want to take over or at the least topple it? They could consider it to be a tyrannical ruling force that needs elimination. Or they (Zirconia) are just power hungry themselves.
From what I've seen of Ophelia so far however, I'm more of leaning towards "remove the tyrannical rule from the shadows by the World Guild" with a good measure of "whatever it takes". Though there are lines she's clearly not willing to cross, even if serial murder is not one of them.

Ya, I agree. I had the feeling from the beginning that Ophelia would be turned and her expression screams paradigm shift. On top of that Seia underestimating anything at this point is almost laughable. Look at him gazing at her from the corner of his eye; letting her hear was a calculated move.

The more I think of it the clearer it becomes that he has a plan for her beyond mere interrogation.

Now that I think of it...

Of course he could have not told her (supposing he wants her to know) for some rule or over. But what makes much more sense is something completely different.
Think about it: If he outright went and told her, would she believe him? Most likely not. But this? Her by chance overhearing information that wasn't even meant for her (at least not by Ruthford)? That kind of intel has cred stamped all over it.

And Seia might still just want info from Ophelia. But she's much more likely to give it, especially giving the right kind of information and not just parts of it or outright lies, if she's questioning the reasons of her past acts.

You and Cici have this nasty habit of making your characters talk around something, but never reveal what it is! Oooh so cruel >.< lol

Rufi, Cici, and most every other author out there...
It's actually a lot harder to find someone who DOESN'T do this in their stories x'D

You forgot there was that thing as well!

Why am I suddenly reminded of "Once upon a time in a battlefield" (I think "Hwangsanbul" is the original title? I don't know any Korean, so bear with me.)?

If the knights are pawns, what are the bishops?! Haha, sorry.
I wonder what's going on?

If they're the pawns...who are the knights, rooks, bishops, and... XP

Something definitely is causing some shocked expressions here.

I do not think Kylie would be associated with anything as disreputable as a pawn-sy scheme! ^_^ We should peer amid the many tangled plot lines and invest our sympathies where they are most deserved. ^_^

Solves the problem of how to get her to listen in but forswear all involvement in doing so And explain things without actually revealing any classified info yourself.

Hah, knew we weren't going to hear it yet. But I honestly wasn't expecting Ophelia to hear it... Hmm, this'll be interesting... I wonder how this will change her opinion on things?
